Having searched high and low, visited a number of car parks up and down West Cumbria we have eventually come up with an alternative autosolo venue for the P & R Benn Autosolo Challenge 2010.

Following a lead from Sam Steel and Nick Stamper and after a site visit and discussion with Malcolm Pearson, the owner, we have now decided to hold the first 'solo of 2010 at the White Heather Hotel at Kirkbride. The event will take place on Sunday 18 th July and we are sure the area we have been given will prove to be a super venue. Not only that but the hotel facilities are available to us so competitors and spectators will be able to use the bar and catering facilities, toilets and a cracking viewing area on the grass outside the bar. If it's a lovely day a smashing place to watch the 'solo in safety and with all you need on hand. So please, if you are coming along do use the White Heather for your food and drink as Malcolm has kindly given us the venue free of charge.

Regs will be out late May/early June and we hope, as last year, that entries will be in high demand so we suggest you get your entry in quickly to avoid being disappointed. We will be running 3 tests with 3 runs at each and with an entry fee of just £15 we hope to give you a first class days motorsport.

In anticipation that everything goes well in July we have already made provisional bookings for the venue for rounds two and three, on the 19 th September and the 17 th October. Looking even further ahead if all goes well in 2010 then we shall revert back in 2011 to having the three rounds in April, July and September.

Welcome to the 2010 Autosolo Championship organised by West Cumbria Motorsport Club's which is kindly sponsored this year by P & R Benn of Cockermouth. An autosolo consists of a number of timed, 'all forwards' tests, on hard surfaces, within test areas not exceeding 200 x 200 yards. The courses don't require specialised manoeuvres such as spin turns, and their design and marking are intended to make the routes easy to follow.
Compared to traditional autotests, speeds through corners may be a little higher, and the tests longer, with cars starting at timed intervals, rather than waiting for the last one to finish. Competitors also act as course marshals, on a rotating basis.

Below is the Regs for the 2010 Autosolo Championship. The Dates of the Three rounds are , Summer Solo(July 18th) and the Weekend of Motorsport Solo(Sept.19th), 17th October
